Over the past 5 years, I never took Youtube seriously.

All I mostly did was publish interview videos with amazing people and share content I believed would be useful for people who wanted to build lifestyle businesses. 

However, while reviewing my numbers recently, I came across this:

Eight thousand and eight hundred hours of video watch time in total.

This equates to 528,000 minutes 🤯

To put that into context, imagine filling the National Stadium to its maximum capacity, with everyone listening to you intently for 10 minutes straight (yes I know it's not Taylor Swift level yet HAHA).

I know the numbers above don’t look like a lot to many people reading this, but for someone who used to struggle with Imposter Syndrome & self-doubt…

It taught me a life lesson I’ll never forget, which is this.

It doesn’t matter even if what you do is not perfect.

As long as you are trying to add value & do good one step at a time,

You can’t help but keep getting better.

This works whether you are posting Youtube videos, writing posts, reaching out to prospects, or having appointments one person at a time…

If you don’t quit just keep taking action,

You have no idea how far you can succeed in business & life.

P.S. With that said, the biggest misconception I’ve had over Youtube is that I thought succeeding at this meant I had to focus on chasing for views & subscribers like the majority of creators, which is why I never took it seriously. 

However, in recent months, I realised the right game for me would be to add lots of value & insight to a small group of people instead - aka to not optimise for viewers, but to optimise for buyers & clients instead. 

This shift also means I’ll be taking Youtube much more seriously moving forward.
